FAQ
Answers, offered with clarity.
What is a Guardianship of Magdala?
It is a symbolic, commemorative connection with the heritage site at Migdal, on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. A charitable donation supports the stated stewardship mission; you receive a certificate and a verifiable registry entry. It is not real-estate ownership.
Why is this site important to Christians?
Magdala stands in the Galilean landscape where Jesus called disciples, taught, travelled by boat, calmed a storm and walked on water. Its first-century remains help illuminate the world of the Gospels.
Did Jesus walk on water at Magdala?
The Gospels say that Jesus walked on the Sea of Galilee but do not identify the exact point on the lake. Magdala stands beside those same waters, within the region of His Galilean ministry.
Is this mainly about Mary Magdalene?
No. The centre of the project is Jesus Christ and the preservation of Gospel heritage. Mary Magdalene is included because the Gospels link her name with Magdala and present her as a faithful disciple and witness to the resurrection.
Does Guardianship mean that I own land in Israel?
No. It conveys no title, property right, investment interest or right to occupy, visit, use or develop land. The certificate is commemorative, not a deed.
Does becoming a Guardian bring spiritual favour or salvation?
No. Christian salvation is God’s gift through faith in Jesus Christ; it cannot be bought. Guardianship is a voluntary charitable act of remembrance and stewardship.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. After payment is confirmed you receive an online record with your unique identifier. A physical Certificate of Guardianship is printed and posted to the address you provide. You can also view it in the Guardian portal.
How is my donation used?
It supports the purposes published by the organisation, including heritage stewardship, charitable work, certificate fulfilment, and church partnership where applicable. See Terms and the How It Works page.
How do I verify a certificate?
Visit the Verify page and enter the unique identifier (GOM- format) shown on the certificate. The public page confirms name, issue date and status. Contact details stay private.
Can I give a guardianship as a gift?
Yes. Enter the recipient’s name during the donation process. The certificate and registry entry will be issued in that name, subject to the published correction terms.
How do referrals work?
Your guardian portal tracks invitations. Visual milestones appear at 50, 100, and 150 referrals.
Can churches participate?
Yes. Churches can use a dedicated portal for members, scheduled messaging, and basic analytics, and may receive disclosed ministry-support payments where a referral arrangement applies.
Can I request a refund or correction?
Charitable donations are generally non-refundable. Duplicate charges are refunded. Certificate corrections and reissues follow the Refund Policy.
Is the organisation legally registered?
Guardians of Magdala is operated by Migdal Heritage Kenya Ltd. Registration numbers and the issuing religious-society details are published on the Accountability and Terms pages as they are confirmed.
